I can not even express how proud I am!!
I just got home from a cute little weekly dinner with my gorgeous girlfriend…and whenever I eat out, the food I order is usually pretty filling, but then I want dessert to satisfy my sweet tooth. And when I say ‘dessert’, there’s automatically a whole new stomach that appears inside me and I can keep eating and eating…haha.
Well, today when I got home, I felt like having an apple (even though I was STUFFED full!), but I knew that if I had that apple, then I’d feel like having that yoghurt (very sugary one) that’s in the fridge. And if I had THAT, then a little bowl of cereal would follow. And then I’d probably eat that banana too…So here I am, at 9:30pm and I would have all this healthy but carby and sugary food inside me! And then I wouldn’t be able to sleep properly because my tummy would be all upset, and then I’d wake up tomorrow morning feeling irrationally fat…
Binges…terrible things! When I start eating, I just can’t stop! So it’s better to not start eating at all. But that’s SO hard to do. BUT today, I MANAGED TO STOP IT!! YES! I SMASHED THAT ONCOMING BINGE ACROSS THE FACE. You know what I did?
I just said to myself “Nella, you tried so hard all day to eat cleanly and healthily. You even ordered something healthy-ish at the cafe (lightly battered calamari with lightly fried chips sprinkled with herbs, with a bit of tartare sauce. The chips were really crunchy and not oily!) so don’t stuff it up now! What you REALLY are is thirsty, not hungry!”
I went and got myself my 1L cup, filled it with icy cold water, grated some organic lemon zest into it and juiced half a lemon. Then I popped in some ice cubes and a straw..and voila! I had a thirst quenching, light, healthy, detoxing and refreshing cold drink!
And that, my friends, is how you punch a Binge in the Face.
