How to NOT go NUTS while in a NUT RUT and CUT off the consequential supply of NUT fat to your BUTT and GUT!!
Nuts are those things which you can just keep eating and eating and eating and eating and eating…and eating…and then you realize - oh that’s NUTS, I just ate WAY too many NUTS! And although we all know that they’re good for us, too much of a good thing ain’t that great. And neither is counting calories - BUT, when you eat more nuts than you intended/needed to, you’ve got a lot of excess calories on your hands, which can make those extra kilos creep up and bite you on your now slightly puffier tooshy…
Don’t get me wrong, nuts are GREAT for weight loss! They can curb hunger, cravings, lift your mood, act as a handy portable snack, substitute nasty fried chips or lollies…but you need to have self control!
How do I do it?
WELL, I just DOUBLE ration my daily nuts! That’s right -
- I get a handful of nuts (a sensible amount for the day) and put it into a little jar which I…
- …ration throughout the day. In this case, I split my daily nuts into 2 servings. There were about 12 almonds, 16 cashews and 12 hazelnuts. I hid the rest of my nuts’ family in the pantry for tomorrow.
Oh, and another tip - try not to ‘mindlessly’ eat your nuts! That is, don’t let your brain be watching TV while your hand is robotically reaching over to grab your nuts (did that sound weird?) and shove them in your mouth (whoa, that DID sound weird =S). Instead, ENJOY your nuts (I need to shut up now…I really do…)! Have them instead of dessert, or a small portion alongside a healthy dessert. Okay, I’m going to stop before this starts sounding even WEIRDER.

For a while, I myself used to believe that in order to lose weight, you HAVE to have a very low fat diet. However, this is definitely not the case. If you’re teaming high fat healthy foods with a clean diet, then you won’t gain weight. A year or so ago, I used to freak out about egg-yolks. And now - well, I make omelettes using 3 eggs. That’s 3 egg yolks. That’s about 250-300 calories! WHOA, right? Wrong, you won’t get fat from fat.
So don’t be afraid to use egg yolks or eat cheese that isn’t fat reduced. If you limit your sugar intake, then you won’t gain weight by eating good fats =)
